I’m Tracy Steffek, the founder of Remedy & Root. I believe real change happens when systems listen to community - and work with them, not just in them.
For nearly two decades, I have helped a multitude of mission-driven organizations build stronger, more connected communities. My focus is systems integration: helping health systems turn good intentions into working systems, where navigation, community partnerships, and performance all line up - so patients are treated as whole people and they receive supports that work together, not in isolation.

For me, this work is both personal and professional. I’m a double cancer survivor, and that experience shapes everything I do. I bring a rare combination of strategic expertise, lived experience, and a deep respect for grassroots leadership. Whether I’m helping a hospital design patient navigation or a coalition align health and local systems to meet basic needs during cancer or chronic illness, I keep the people most affected at the center. My job is to move organizations from good intentions to real, actionable impact.
I believe in working across ideologies to find shared solutions. But I won’t pretend that patching broken systems is a strategy - it isn’t. Real change takes courage and collaboration to build something new. That’s why I started Remedy & Root: because the future of care can be designed for how people actually live.
